The Passages

Lesson Reading

Two short passages. Read both slowly. The course is built on them.

But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24)

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:1-2)

The first passage tells you what worship is at its core. Spirit and truth. Not geography. Not style. Not feeling. Spirit and truth.

The second passage tells you how wide worship goes. Your whole body. Your whole life. Presented to God. Not parts. Not Sundays only. All of you. All the time.

When you are ready, continue.
