Your Testimony: The Before, How, Now Pattern

Before you are baptized, you will tell your story. Not a polished speech. Just the truth of what God has done. We use a simple pattern from the Welcome to the Family booklet, three parts.

Before. What was your life like before Christ? Not just the dramatic parts. Maybe you were religious but lost. Maybe you were running. Maybe you were comfortable and empty. Name it honestly.

How. How did God bring you to himself? A sermon, a friend, a crisis, a slow dawn. There is no wrong way for God to draw a person. Tell what happened.

Now. What is different now? Not that life is perfect. That you belong to Christ, and what that is changing. Name the hope you did not have before.

Keep it to a few minutes spoken, or a few hundred words written. Specific beats impressive. The point is not to wow anyone. The point is to point to Jesus.
