What Is a Covenant Member?

In a lot of churches, "membership" means your name is on a list somewhere. That is not what we mean.

A covenant member is someone who has said, out loud and in writing, "This is my church family, and I am committing to it." It means you will gather with us, serve among us, give toward the work, grow in Christ alongside us, love this body, and witness to those outside it. And it means the elders take responsibility to shepherd you, to teach you, to pray for you, and to care for you.

The Bible does not know any other kind of Christian than a committed one. Covenant membership is just naming, honestly, the commitment that following Christ already implies.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
