New Life: Sharing Your Faith
Lesson Reading
Sharing Your Faith
You have the best news in the world. The people around you, your family, your friends, your coworkers, your neighbors here on the South Shore, need to hear it. Sharing your faith is not a job for professionals. It is the privilege of every believer.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses. (Acts 1:8)
You do not need a seminary degree. You do not need to win an argument. You need to do two things: live a life that makes people curious, and be ready to tell them about Jesus when they ask.
Always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15)
It helps to have a simple way to tell the story. The next step is a short video that walks you through a tool called the 3 Circles. It is a simple drawing you can sketch on a napkin or a phone, and it lets you explain the whole gospel in a normal conversation: God's good design, how sin broke it, and how Jesus is the way back. You already received a copy of the 3 Circles card at Intro to Mayflower if you took it, but the video will teach you everything you need.
Watch it. Then practice it, out loud, until you could draw it from memory. Then look for one conversation this month where you could use it.
Do not keep the best news in the world to yourself.
